How is everyone’s year going so far? It’s been pretty busy around here but I finally had some time this week to freshen up the house since taking down Decembers decorations. And I want to tell y’all, I am completely over winter! How about you?
We’ve been really fortunate this year and so far it’s been much milder than the past 2 winters that we’ve been here and there’s no snow in the forecast for the rest of January. Which just leaves February and March…I can do this!!!! I can make it to Spring! It’s like getting through that last push on the treadmill y’all! Just. Stay. Focused.
Since I’m so excited to almost be done with the cold season, I skipped adding any and all winter decor to the house. You won’t find an acorn, snowflake, woodland creature or any other frosty touch! I wanted bright and happy!
So, I thought that I would share 3 Easy Ways to Add Color to Your Home Decor.
1: New Bathroom Towels
OK, I must admit that I have a linen closet full of bathroom towels that are mostly neutrals. So after visiting my friends super colorful house when I went home, I was motivated to pick up some gorgeous new coral towels for my hall bath and I LOVE them!
They add a splash of color and fresh feeling to my blue and white hallway bathroom and the pattern on them is gorgeous! I mixed them with a fun new navy accent rug.
2: A New Throw Blanket
So…I kind of have a “thing” for throw blankets.
Just so I don’t have too many, I give them away to make room for new ones. Seriously. I think a large portion of my posts probably have a new throw blanket somewhere in them!
This week I added this colorful beauty to my stash. It’s like sunshine on a chair and super soft.
3: Furniture Accessories
After switching out a piece of furniture, I added some new accessories to lighten the feel of this hallway corner.
A bright planter and wood storage box are a clean, clutter free pop of color.
And there you have it.
3 super easy ways to cheer up the winter blahs around the house.
I picked up the towels, throw blanket and planter at Anthropologie and the rug and wood box and Home Goods, but I’m sure that you can find similar items at your favorite stores.
Have a great rest of the week!
