DIY Boot Stuffers

Hey friends!

Y’all know what’s almost here? Boot season!

As happy as I know that makes some people, I also know everyone hates it when their boots no longer stand on their own. So, today I’m sharing my tip for diy boot shapers that will keep your boots from falling all over your closet.

Confession time, I have a lot of  boots. I have had some of them for so long, that they no longer have the foam fillers that they came with. Like my favorite Anthropologie boots. I’ve had them for so many years, the leather is like butter and when I’m not wearing them they just sag into a heap.

What I do to keep them standing up and in shape, is use pool noodles.

Thats right, pool noodles.

These are perfect to stuff your boots with. Rather than buy stuffers for about $20 per pair, you can make bunches of sets yourself.

Believe it or not, I actually had some noodles sitting in our basement from when we used to live on the river. They came with us when we moved because movers pack EVERYTHING. Living here, I no longer had a use for them, so here’s  how I repurposed them:

I cut them to the length that I needed for the style of boot, and spray painted them (that’s optional) silver.

Then I inserted them into the boot.

That’s it.

They will keep your boots from falling over like this:

And they will look like this:

Much neater and much better for the investment that you put into your boots, because let’s face it, good boots ain’t cheap.

I hope you find this little tip helpful when you pull out all your fall/winter gear in a month or so!

  1. Oh, Karen, you have made yours so fancy with the silver paint. It kind of makes my multi colored ones look lame. I think I have some painting to do. These are the best though, aren’t they? Way better than stuffing them with newspaper like I used to do! Thank you so much for coming by and sharing at Celebrate it Sunday! I hope I see some of your great ideas again this week!

  3. Ohhhhh….LOVE THIS IDEA !! I have SO MANY boots and I have the original boxes and THAT’S how I store them <– but what a pain it is because their so large :( When I reorganized my closet years ago I took pic's of all my shoes and put them on the outside of the original box they came in…so that was a great idea BUT NOT SO with boots !!
AND I was JUST at Walmart and these noodles were on sale and they had ton's of pink ones so I won't have to spray paint 'em…gotta' make a trip back down so I can rehab my boots !! THANKS again for a wonderful idea…your a gem !!
The only problem is that when I go to Walmart I walk out with $50.00 in nail polish <– my downfall in life is my love of polish, sighhh !!!

    1. Hey girl! I am super happy that you like this idea! I agree, keeping them in boxes takes up a ton of space and boots are just hard to organize. I have really found this to work well, so that I can line them up nice and neat :)
BTW, I am crazy about your nail polish addiction! You are so good at it!!!

      1. Awwww…thanks so much !! I try so hard to recreate so many designs and I’m so happy that you enjoy them and my following is getting higher on Instagram…I’m sooo stoked !! :)
