Y’all know what’s almost here? Boot season!
As happy as I know that makes some people, I also know everyone hates it when their boots no longer stand on their own. So, today I’m sharing my tip for diy boot shapers that will keep your boots from falling all over your closet.
Confession time, I have a lot of boots. I have had some of them for so long, that they no longer have the foam fillers that they came with. Like my favorite Anthropologie boots. I’ve had them for so many years, the leather is like butter and when I’m not wearing them they just sag into a heap.
What I do to keep them standing up and in shape, is use pool noodles.
Thats right, pool noodles.
These are perfect to stuff your boots with. Rather than buy stuffers for about $20 per pair, you can make bunches of sets yourself.
Believe it or not, I actually had some noodles sitting in our basement from when we used to live on the river. They came with us when we moved because movers pack EVERYTHING. Living here, I no longer had a use for them, so here’s how I repurposed them:
I cut them to the length that I needed for the style of boot, and spray painted them (that’s optional) silver.
Then I inserted them into the boot.
They will keep your boots from falling over like this:
And they will look like this:
Much neater and much better for the investment that you put into your boots, because let’s face it, good boots ain’t cheap.
I hope you find this little tip helpful when you pull out all your fall/winter gear in a month or so!
