Fall Home Tour 2015

brown

Welcome to my Fall Home Tour!

I’m happy to be joining 15 other great bloggers today, as we open up our homes and share how we decorate during the autumn season. All the ladies are listed at the bottom of my tour, and you will want to be sure & stop by each one for tons of inspiration!

If you’ve been here before, then you already know my style. If you are new, we like to keep it casual and comfortable around here. The most important thing to me is that my home is welcoming. Because we live in the Philadelphia Countryside (we’ve been here for 2 years)  I decorate this house with a touch of farmhouse style.

This season, I used easy to find things, like lots of farmer’s market pumpkins, hydrangea, and sunflowers. And although we love Halloween (it was actually our first date) you won’t see any here today. But don’t fret, lots of the other ladies on the tour are sharing their great Halloween ideas!

So, let’s start this tour off in the entryway. I like to keep this space light and bright.

Our living room is as formal as we get , which isn’t very. I add a feeling of fall through very simple touches, like changing the wreath above the mantel and adding pumpkins (faux and real) along with some seasonal candles and colors.

Next, is our small & cozy den. A favorite room of our guests (and our dogs) to snuggle up and watch a movie or read a book.

And finally… our kitchen.

This was the first room that I saw when I looked at this house. When I walked in, I knew this was the right one for us. Like the rest of our home, I love for this kitchen to have a relaxed feel where folks can come in, sit down, have some laughs & good food and feel right at home.

This year I used natural elements and earthy colors for simple, relaxed hints of fall.

  1. I love the sunflowers in your home tour. Your kitchen looks so light and airy! Thanks for hosting the Something to Talk About Link Party. I also posted a Fall Home tour in this weeks STTA . I’d love to collaborate next year with a fall home tour blog hop if you are participating next year and looking to add anyone. Thanks again,

  2. Karen,
Your home looks lovely for Fall, you did a great job! I just love the blue distressed looking dresser that looks like it may be in your dining room. did you paint it yourself? I would love to know what the paint is and the color if you have time!

  3. Hi Karen! I am just getting around to some older blog posts e-mails and I have to tell you I love your style! I do think my favorite thing is the paneling-I would love to be able to pull something like that off, but it looks so natural in your place! The second runner up would have to be the bowl of autumn goodies~I did a similar thing on my table last year and will probably reinvent it this year if I ever get my fall stuff out!

  4. Everything looks great.

My favorites are the entry and also that green cabinet with the cow painting above it. I love the shade of green. I asked my husband to paint me a cow painting when he finishes what he is working on right now.

  5. Karen, I just came across your blog….I love your home. Very pretty. Could you tell me where you got the gray couch? Love it! Thanks.

    1. Thanks Vicki! My dog is too funny! He was actually looking out the window for the groundhogs and I caught a good pic. A few minutes later he was just laying on top the book :)

  6. Wow, Karen – I can see why the kitchen sold you on your home! Those windows!! The photo with the dresser/credenza and the cow print is perfection. Loved it all!

    1. Thanks Kris! That cow painting is an original piece by a local artist. I couldn’t not buy her, but my husband will NEVER know how much I paid for her!

  7. Hi Karen,
Love, Love, Love your Fall Home Tour…..especially your family room and the kitchen!! Thanks for sharing – lots of great pictures and inspiration!
    Blessings,
    Lanita
