I hope y’all had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! We enjoyed the beautiful weather and got some things done around the house. There is always something that needs our attention around here, so we take every opportunity to cross things off the to-do list.
One of the things that I did, was to bite the bullet and get out some Fall decor. I know everyone LOVES fall, and although it’s not my favorite season (because it means winter is staring me right in the face) I got in the spirit and completed a really simple Fall mantel in the kitchen. This year I was going for a clean, non busy look. It may even be too simple for some people’s taste, but it’s early in the season, I am easing into it.
Here is what I did:
I bought and cut some pine boards to the size that I wanted, glued them together with wood glue and then stained them. Next, I added some faux bitter sweet twigs to a wreath that I had, and hung it from the board with a clear wreath hanger. Then I used two glass vases for flowers that I picked up at Pier One.
A clean look with a low budget.
This month I will be sharing more of my Fall decorations and I’ll be joining several other bloggers for a Fall Home Tour in the beginning of October. I also have a full living room makeover that I did, that I am excited to show you soon, and a few crafty projects that I’m working on. Summer is over y’all, it’s time to get back to work!
