Morocco is an exciting country that has been influenced by European and Arabic cultures. From the mountains to the desert, there is so much to see and do, and many opportunities to bond as a family. You could visit the Majorelle Garden, a botanical garden that contains stunning flora or take a trip to Ouzoud Falls which is notorious for the agile monkeys that live there.

 

Explore Toubkal National Park and you can go trekking and explore small villages. Be sure to visit Oasiria Water Park that has multiple slides, kids’ area and a wave pool. A few other places you can visit are the Crocodile Park, Sunday Market and Jemaa el-Fnaa.

Greece is a country with thousands of Islands to explore by boat. Rhodes, Santorini, Paros, Corfu, and Delphi are just a few of the places that you can visit. Sailing together as a family is a great way to bond and you can rent boats with a full staff if you have no previous sailing experience. You can stop the boat whenever you want to explore and go snorkelling, or just lie on a pristine beach away from the crowds.

The Cotswolds is a two hour drive from London and is known for its beautiful countryside. For families who love nature and being outside, this is the perfect option. You can rent a cosy Cotswold cottage for your family to stay in, and you can enjoy exploring the charming local areas.

 

There are often festivals and events going on in the villages, and there are lots of sites and places of interest to visit. If you want to visit natural hot springs then the Roman Bathhouse and the Thermae Bath Spa are great places to go. Cirencester is beautiful town and you can check out the markets and visit the Church of St. John the Baptist, Cirencester Square, and the Corinium Museum.

The Algarve is in Portugal and it is the perfect destination for a holiday with kids. There are plenty of beaches that you can go to that are away from the crowds. Praia da Rocha means beach on the rocks and it has huge expanse of sands and very few people. Lagos, Albufeira, Faro, Tavira, Sagres, Luz, Carvoeiro and Almancil are also stunning beaches where you won’t find large crowds. The Sand Sculpture festival, Fiesa, happens annually from May to October and it is a great place to view impressive sand sculptures.

Cape Town, South Africa is a great place for an active family holiday. Take a trip to the stunning areas around Cape Town and visit Table Mountain National Park, Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, uShaka Marine World, Two Oceans Aquarium, Cape of Good Hope and Boulders Beach. This is a great adventure for people of all ages, and if you’ve got time you could even go on a safari.

Uda Walawe National Park is a great place for wildlife viewing and you can see elephants, crocodiles, jackals and leopards and many others. For a more relaxing holiday travel to the small fishing village of Mirissa to lie on a hammock and watch the Indian ocean.
