Great Reasons To Visit Udaipur This Year

I absolutely love travelling around India, it is a country that I fall in love with more and more each time I go back. The food, the people, the culture, there’s so much to love there! It can be a little tricky for me to choose my favourite place because the country is full of amazing choices, but Udaipur is by far the best so far.

Anytime someone asks me for advice about where they should visit in India, Rajasthan is top of the list. It is a really good region to visit because of its close proximity to Delhi. If you haven’t been then you really need to start booking your ticket today! Flights can be found at a great bargain and the hotels in Udaipur are super affordable too, there really is no reason not to make it your next holiday destination.

Here are the great things that are waiting for you to discover in Udaipur.

Lake Pichola Is Beautiful

The pristine Lake Pichola is one of the main attractions in Udaipur, it is the reason that the city has become known as the Venice of the East. There are loads of different ways for you to experience the lake. My favourite is to book a table at any one of the rooftop restaurants, enjoy some mouth watering Indian food and take in the beautiful view. The best one I found so far is called Upre, make a reservation and I promise you will not be disappointed.

It’s Uber Clean

India is one of the best countries I have been to, but some of the cities are the cleanest I have been to. Udaipur is one of the cleanest cities in the country, I hardly saw any rubbish on the roads or footpaths because the authorities have made a huge effort to take care of the city. Many put the cleanliness of the city as being one of the reasons why it was voted the world’s best city back in 2009.

The Culture and Traditions

Rajasthan is renowned for having a rich culture. You can see this culture shining through in the folk music you’ll hear and the dances you’ll see. When on holiday in Rajasthan you are sure to see this rich culture where ever you turn, from restaurant shows to street performances. If you have the time check out the Dharohar dance show, it’s on at 8 o’clock each night at the Bagore Ki Haveli – this is not to be missed, the dancing and beautiful clothes are a photographer’s delight!
